“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” Psalm 51:17

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” Psalm 139:23-24

“When our heart is broken over a sin, God mends it with the priceless forgiveness generously offered by our Savior at the cross. He receives us with love when we humble ourselves before Him, and closeness is restored.” Our Daily Bread, 5/31/2017

God KNOWS our heart, so simply saying you are broken isn’t going to change anything. We must BE broken, demolished under the weight of our sin, knowing that OUR sin caused the spotless Lamb of God to be CRUSHED for our iniquity. Only then will God restore us to the joy of the salvation He has given to us.

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12

Be restored…
